Liminal Space presents seven new sculptures by artists Evan and Stacey Smith. The works mimic our relationship with sacred spaces that remove us from the noise of our everyday lives. The minimal spaces of light and color within each sculpture play against the physicality of the gallery and influence the psychological experience of the architectural space which contains them. Their work questions our accessibility to the sacred, both religious and artistic, and mirrors the innate human struggle to physically encounter the mysterious within venerated spaces. Our restricted accessibility forces us to rely only on our visual experience to enter and connect to each piece.
