We are a collaborative duo from St. Louis, Missouri. We use various media and technologies to create works that represent and explore our personal experiences. In our recent work, we create architectural spaces to investigate accessibility, use sculptural objects to connect to childhood experiences, and the uncanny nature of memory.
We have been working as an artistic collaboration since 2017, and through our collaborative process we combine our different backgrounds of art and science. Our process begins by investigating themes such as our own childhood, our relationship with sacred spaces or the uncanny nature of memories. We then distill these ideas into work that, while based in personal experience, leaves an open door for the viewer to bring their own connections to it. Our intention is not to push a specific message but rather to create a space for the viewer’s experiences to be validated, whatever that may be.
Evan received his Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Webster University. Stacey holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Missouri.
